Click on the People tab in the left sidebar. Choose Contacts.
Click the Import button, then choose the Upload CSV option.
Navigate to the CSV file you want to use. Select the file from your computer, then click Open.
Next, the Upload CSV File window will appear. Click on each drop down menu to match LiveHive fields with your CSV file’s header names. For example, in LiveHive, Firstname will be the first name of your contact. In the Your CSV File drop-down menu, you’d choose the correct header in your CSV file. In the example below, the header in the CSV file that includes first names is labeled “first_name”.
Scroll down in the window to continue mapping all of the necessary fields.
If a field is left as "Select Mapping", then no information for that field will be uploaded.
Note: Make sure to scroll up and down in this window and double check that all the proper fields are mapped correctly!
Once you map all the relevant fields, you have three options before saving the upload.
- Import to: You can create a new group and place these contacts from the CSV file into this group. Simply type in a title for the new group folder.
- Add To: Add the contacts from this CSV file into an existing group. Click the drop-down menu and select the group you want.
- Do not add to a group: You are not required to create a new group or import to an existing group. You can leave both of these areas alone and click the Save Upload button. The contacts from the CSV file will only be in your Contacts list. You can always add contacts to a group later.
Click the Save Upload button when you’re ready to upload the CSV file to your LiveHive contacts.
A best practice is to upload a CSV file to a group, so if there are any issues with mapping, you can delete all the contacts in a group and upload again without having to find all the individual contacts in your full contacts list.
